Swords Celtic are proud to introduce the first ever Swords Street Leagues this summer. Once the World Cup gets under way in South Africa, the youth of Swords have a chance to show off their skills against their friends and class mates.
In co-operation with Sporting Fingal, we are hosting a festival of football for all who qualify to play schoolboy football next season. The competitions will take place at Under 8 &10, 12,14,16 and 18. The action gets under way on Saturday 19th June and continues through to the Finals Day on Sunday 4th July.
The idea is that you will form teams representing the different areas of Swords and its surrounds, and compete against other areas. This should see some great competitions pitching players who are normally teammates against each other.
To participate you need to get yourself on a team. So get your friends together, form a team, appoint a manager, fill in the registration form and bring it in to us. Don’t worry if you don’t have enough for starters as we will sort out the teams. If you want, you can enter as an individual and we will allocate you to the most suitable team.
If you want to register a group of players use the Group Registration Form, or if you want to register as an individual, use the Individual Registration Form. Make sure you fill in all the details, including the area team you want to play on. If you register as a group make sure you nominate a manager or a player as a contact. There is a €5 fee per player to cover administration so bring this along with your registration forms.
We will then spend the week sorting out the squads and the various tournaments and will contact a representative for each team. We will post the tournament details including matches and squads on this website. When the competitions start we will provide daily updates of results and tables.
