Swords Celtic 5 - Esker Celtic 0
The battle of the Celtics saw Swords in devastating form with an emphatic victory over one of the leagues toughest sides with a master class in forward play from strikers Jason Condon and Evan Spencer. The home side got to work straight from the kick off with wing wizards Evan Casey and Dion Agbonze raiding down either flank forcing Esker into some early last ditch defending. The first goal came on eight minutes when Evan Spencer weaved his way past two defenders and finished neatly to the keepers left. Aaron Molloy, Conor Farrelly and Andrew Bermingham were bossing the game in midfield and it was Farrelly who sent Spencer away on the right wing. Spencer sent in a pinpoint cross which was expertly headed home by his strike partner Jason Condon. Swords made it 3 0 just minutes later when from another Spencer cross Jason Condon volleyed superbly into the roof of the net. Swords continued in the second half with the same momentum and kept up their relentless work rate which Esker could not compete with. An injury to Aaron Molloy saw the introduction of Adam Shields who quickly made his mark on the game with an incisive through ball to the ever willing Condon who completed his hat-trick with a fine right foot effort. The Swords defence were rarely troubled but home keeper Oisin McCarthy showed good concentration when brilliantly plucking a cross out of the air when under pressure from two attackers. Swords completed the scoring when Condon turned provider, laying the ball off to Spencer who crashed in a 20 yard left foot strike to round off an excellent display from Swords.

Swords Celtic v Dunboyne
Another hugely productive week for Swords Celtic in their quest to take the Under 10A title saw them take maximum points in their two games with the added bonus of league leaders Cherry Orchard suffering a 7 - 3 hammering from Home Farm. Swords entertained St. Kevin's Boys on Thursday night and produced a super display which culminated in a 2 -1 victory with goals coming from Dion Agbonze and Andrew Bermingham.
Saturday morning saw Celtic face Dunboyne at Balheary without the services of Aaron Molloy and Conor Farrelly who were casualties from the midweek exertions. The home side were well up for this game and dominated the first half putting Dunboyne under incessant pressure. The opening goal came on five minutes when Dion Agbonze continued his run of goal scoring with a fine individual effort. Agbonze picked up the ball twenty yards from out and calmly rounded two players and slotted home from just inside the box. Swords went 2 - 0 up five minutes before the break when good work from Jason Condon set up Evan Casey whose superb volley rocketed into the net.
The second half saw a more cagey game with Dunboyne pressing to get on the scoresheet, however it was Swords who came closest to adding to their lead with Evan Spencer cracking a piledriver from 25 yards which just sailed over the bar with the keeper beaten. Dunboyne's pressure was rewarded fifteen minutes into the half when Paul Grant hit a sublime strike which gave home keeper Oisin McCarthy no chance. Swords responded well and after some good link up play from Andrew Bermingham and Dion Agbonze the ball found Evan Casey who unleashed a thunderbolt strike but Dunboyne's keeper produced an excellent save to deny the winger. Dunboyne pressed late on but the Swords defence held firm with Man of the Match Adam Bolton winning crucial tackles.
Swords have now taken fifteen points from their last five games and are hot on the heels of league leaders Cherry Orchard.

Swords Celtic v St. Kevins
We played St. Kevin's last night and came out with yet another win. Five on the hop now, very tight game but their was only going to be one winner. Swords started well and on the 5 minute mark, Evan Spencer put Jason Condon through, who tried to bend the ball around the keeper with the outside off his right foot but it just went wide. The 1st half finished 0-0 with some fine saves from Oisin Mc Carthy and great work rate in the middle off the park by Aaron Molloy, Conor Dion and Evan Casey.
Once the 2nd half started we scored within minutes, Jason whipped in a corner, St. Kevin's headed clear and Dion hit a right foot strike from outside the box - One nil Swords. Kevin's then brought on there little mystro ex Swords Celtic player Enda Delaney who played well and for the management and parents it was great to see him back -BUT IN THE WRONG COLOUR's. Kevin's scored with about 10 minutes left, so it was time to bring on fresh legs. Kevin Murray for Evan Casey on the wing Adam Bolton for Gavin Ward and the in front Adam (Jinky) Shields for Jason Condon. The players' that came on added great flair and determination, the game was mostly played in the Kevin's half. With 5 mins to go Swords broke on the right with Murray who crossed the ball into the box and a little crafty touch by the super Andy Birmingham found the back off the Kevins' net, 2-1 Swords. The Swords line roared with delight, the evening however ended with a blow when Molloy was carried off with an ankle injury and could be out for 2 weeks, we wish him all the best. The game had a nervous ending, however yet again the captain Steve Blake mopped up everything at the back .
Gareth and John are very proud to manage this team, they are a great bunch off lads and we hope we can add to the squad in the near future.
We also thank the parents who have to drive all over Dublin for mid week games and take time off work, that's commitment.
Keep Winning lads...
